Lots of East End pronunciations and slang, but US reader can figure it out. Very interesting, convoluted plot with everything reaching out and touching everything else. Likable characters, actually pretty well developed for this genre. Even the villains had character, no matter how brief their role in the plot.Even though the reader can surmise how the characters will intercept, the plot evolves and suspense and excitement builds.

I am not finished with this book yet. I just can't get into it. It doesn't flow very well and seems to jump around too much. The language is hard to understand so that slows the reading down. I will finish it at some point so I can find out the mystery of the laptop.
The Laptop is a well written book that just keeps you reading. I started it, and could not stop until I finished the final page, way after the time i should have been asleep!
The story is complicated and twisty/turny, but not so much so that it is hard to follow. Even though I read a lot of mysteries, I had no idea of what would happen next. That's good! The characters were well developed and I felt drawn to them.
There are more than a few story lines at the beginning, but they all tie together quite well as the book progresses.
I liked it very much!
